About The Artist (2008-2009)
Hi, my name is Brittani Nicole LimaOsorio but most people call me Nikki Britt.
I am nineteen years old and I am currently attending college and majoring in child Pyschology.
I was first introduced to polymer clay at age nine. I was always very artistic and loved to draw and paint. So when I found out about sculpting I had to try it. For my birthday I had asked for a set of polymer clays in many colors. I had seen the many things that could be created from it and I wanted to try making these things myself. I would create little clay animals and cartoon people. I also loved to sculpt the family pets out of clay.
I started sculpting babies in the year 2008 right before I graduated from highschool. At the time I was living in Mexico City. When I began sculpting I didn't have any supplies and didn't know much about doll making. There wasn't any craft stores in the part of Mexico that I lived in, so I basically started using "tools" I could find around the house to create my dolls. I didnt have the proper clay or paints, so I used what I had left from my sculpey days and mixed the colors until I created a fleshtone. I then painted my first doll with acrylics. Everything I know now was learned step by step and through much trial and error. Now my dolls are created from my special mix of professional polymer clays and they are painted with Genesis permanent heat-set paints to ensure a lifetime of quality.
